Fresh off a £5million move to English Premiership club Hull City from Fulham, English-born striker Bobby Zamora has set his sights on playing for the Soca Warriors. This was confirmed by the player’s agent Eric Waters on Wednesday as he sent a message to T&T team manager David Muhammad.
Following an enquiry from the T&T Football Federation into the player’s availability after a new Fifa ruling several weeks ago, Zamora, 28, indicated his interest and is looking towards his debut for T&T. T&T plays El Salvador on August 12 in a 2010 World Cup qualifier at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo.
“I’ve spoken to Bobby and he’s confirmed a strong desire to play for Trinidad and Tobago,” Waters said. Zamora, whose father is from Carenage, has also asked to speak to T&T senior team officials prior to him joining the team.
