France fullback Rod Fanni will be signed by West Ham this summer as a replacement for contract rebel Lucas Neill.

The Rennes defender has had a superb campaign in Ligue 1 and consequently broke into the France national team.

Fanni’s agent Dominique Six confirmed that West Ham are one of several clubs that have contacted him for the 27-year-old’s services

“We have been in talks with several clubs including West Ham, which is an interesting option to Rod,” Six told Setanta. “Rod is crazy for English football and I know that he would be delighted to be playing his football in there.

“But West Ham are not the only club that have knocked at the door, as there is also a top Spanish club [believed to be Atletico Madrid] and a great German club [believed to be Bayern Munich] after him.”

    All we need to do now is sign these players, get dicks out of retirement and we could have a real embarrassing team lineup
